Urogynaecology treats the pelvic floor and bladder problems that are common in women and yet too rarely talked about — incontinence, prolapse, recurrent infections, retention and pelvic pain. Many women live with these for years, assuming nothing can be done. Very often, a great deal can — frequently without surgery. Our unit sits within Sama Hospital, a NABH-accredited, doctor-owned hospital in South Delhi, with a dedicated, female-led urogynaecology team.
Leakage on coughing, laughing or urgency — assessed properly and treated, starting with the non-surgical options.
When pelvic organs drop — from pessaries and physiotherapy to reconstructive surgery where it’s truly needed.
Infections that keep coming back have a reason. We find it and prevent them, rather than repeating antibiotics.
When the bladder won’t empty — often missed in women. We find the cause and treat it.
Common, treatable, and discussed openly with a female-led team. Assessed sensitively, at your pace.
Supervised, effective, no surgery — the recommended first treatment for stress incontinence and mild prolapse.
For most of these conditions, the right first step is not an operation. Pelvic floor physiotherapy, pessaries, local oestrogen, treating an underlying cause — these resolve a great many problems on their own. Where surgery is genuinely needed, it is done well and explained honestly. But we reach for it last, not first.
