Kidney Stones
Most small stones pass on their own. Laser, ureteroscopy and shockwave treatment for those that don’t — usually no incision.
Prostate Surgery
For an enlarged prostate — but only when medication no longer controls the symptoms. Keyhole or laser, no external cut.
Nephrectomy
Kidney removal for tumours or a non-functioning kidney, by keyhole surgery where suitable. You live normally with one kidney.
Erectile Dysfunction & Penile Implants

Minimally Invasive, and Only When Needed
Two principles run through our urology.
Most urological surgery today is keyhole or endoscopic — kidney stones removed through the natural passage, prostates treated through the urethra, kidneys removed laparoscopically. Less pain, faster recovery, smaller or no scars.
And surgery is often not needed at all. Small kidney stones pass with fluids. Enlarged prostates are frequently controlled with medication for years. Erectile dysfunction is treated with lifestyle changes and tablets long before any operation. A doctor-owned hospital has no revenue target pushing you toward the theatre — when watching or medicating is the better course, that is what you will be told.
When It Is Urgent
- A kidney stone blocking the kidney with fever — a urological emergency needing prompt drainage.
- Complete inability to pass urine (acute retention) — needs same-day attention.
- Visible blood in the urine — should always be assessed, even if painless.
