At Sama Hospital, neurology care is led by consultant neurologist Dr. Kadam Nagpal (MBBS, MD, DM Neurology, FEBN, FRCP). We provide outpatient neurology consultation and diagnosis for conditions including stroke, epilepsy, dementia, movement disorders and sleep disorders.

At Sama Hospital, we do not routinely perform brain surgery, and we are not an acute stroke centre. Patients who need intra-cranial neurosurgery, or emergency treatment during an acute stroke, are best treated at a tertiary hospital. Where Sama can help is what comes next. Our post-acute neurological rehabilitation service cares for patients in the weeks and months after discharge from a tertiary centre, with medical supervision, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and swallow therapy, and support for families. Back pain can sometimes produce neurological symptoms such as numbness, muscle weakness, or loss of bowel and bladder control. Symptoms like these need prompt medical assessment.
